About Physics101

Physic101 is an integrated platform committed to demystifying the IGCSE physics syllabus. Using a carefully crafted amalgamation of succinct textual content integrated with engaging infographics and animations, we present notes and questions in way that truly captures the imagination, and stimulates one’s thought process. Here at physics101, we have dedicated ourselves to develop the most exam relevant notes and questions in a multimodal form; which means no more expending critical comprehension power scrutinizing pages of content in the pursuit to find what is ‘actually’ important for exams. We understand that, as students, one of your primary concerns would always be “what is it that I really need to know for the exam?”; and this is the question that we aim to answer through Physics101. Motivated by simplicity but accuracy in every representation, we have created a platform that allows students to review any topic in IGCSE Physics from a selection of 5 major units (each of which is tailored to the structure of the IGCSE syllabus), in a concise yet holistic manner; to achieve this, we use short bullet points for textual information, infographics for the succinct summarization of challenging concepts, and animations to incorporate realism in learning. We highly value realistic representations that are analogous to real life, because not only do they elevate comprehension levels in students, but also serve to stimulate their visualization abilities.

But we realize that learning can never replace pen and paper practise

To that end, we have incorporated past IGCSE exam style questions within each subtopic. Correct answer choices are accompanied with, in depth, explanations clearing any ambiguity that may arise while problem solving!

I know from personal experience how nerve-wracking it can be to give the IGCSE finals. I hope that this platform makes physics a little more real, relatable and simplistic for everyone in high school, acting a support structure for those studying for their IGCSE finals.

Happy learning

About Me

I am Yash Taparia, an IB student currently studying at the Bombay International School in Mumbai, India. I’m passionate about music, sports, and flying drones. I’m also a huge food lover (give me a new cuisine to try every week!), and love going on endless adventure treks with my friends.

Physics is another huge passion of mine, and I’m really thankful for the wonderful opportunities I’ve had to explore how Physics concepts that you learn in class are actually employed in real world applications. I have had the chances to intern at a couple of companies. Initially I got to work in designing and manufacturing electromagnets to see how the preliminary and detail design process in the industry actually works, and then I worked at one of the world’s largest solar contractors to get an amazing insight into the latest technologies in the Solar industry and the inner workings of one of the world’s largest solar farms.

I have also worked with the Marigold NGO in Mumbai where I got the wonderful chance to teach Physics to young underprivileged children. Teaching and interacting with all those amazing children gave me an amazing insight into the learning process – using both audio and visual techniques to showcase concepts, and I really hope those lessons shine through on this website!
