Pressure

Pressure is defined as the force acting on an object per unit area.
- where P is the pressure in Pascals
- F is the force in N
- A is the area in $m^{2}$
It is a scalar quantity
SI unit of Pa or $N/m^{2}$
The pressure created by a large heavy box can be the same as a tiny needle despite the large difference in the force exerted.
- $P_{Box} = \frac{1000 N}{1m^{2}} = 1000 Pa$
- $P_{Needle} = \frac{10 N}{0.01m^{2}} = 1000 Pa$
